High Fashion Hits Guildford

On Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd January 2010 the glamour of a Hollywood film premiere and the style of a Paris catwalk came to Guildford courtesy of the annual Guildford High School Fashion Show.

Months of hard work and preparation by the Sixth Form team of Fashion Show Directors saw 300 girls from Guildford High School girls and 50 boys from the Royal Grammar School stage two slick and professional shows.

Incorporating themes such as ‘Make Do and Mend', ‘Country vs. City Chic' ‘Glam Rock' and ‘DIY Couture', the event showcased everything from high street fashion to individual creativity and style with many items being kindly donated by high street stores from around Guildford. The glamorous evening wear section featured a stunning array of gowns provided by local dress hire company, Masquerade (www.masqueradeuk.org).

High energy dance routines, plenty of glitz and a huge amount of fun made the evenings great successes and helped achieve the Fashion Show's primary aim which was to raise funds for the Alice Ramsay Trust. Over £4,000 has been raised for this worthy cause.
